Following an early morning ferry crossing from Dover to Calais we immediately take to the back roads of France. We make our way through the French countryside and the small towns and villages to our first overnight stop at a superb four star hotel* with great food and a fantastic wine cellar.

The next day we arrive at our hotel in the heart of the Black Forest and begin discovering some of the awesome roads and sights the region has to offer. We have a selection of ride-outs planned which we swap and change depending on group preference or weather conditions. Amongst the choices will be; the B500 (of course) Baden-Baden, Triberg with its waterfall, Schonach, home to the world biggest cuckoo clock or Lake Titisee. Don’t worry we ride out everyday so you wont miss any of the great biking roads available. You are of course welcome to explore on your own if that is your preference in the knowledge that a great night awaits you back at the hotel.

The Black Forest is one of Germany’s most picturesque regions and riding through the pine forests on mile after mile of the best tarmac Germany has to offer is what biking is all about.

Once again we have joined two great biking destinations into one great tour. Although near neighbours the two regions offer different riding experiences. The Black Forest with its roads twisting and turning through miles of pine forests to the Mosel Valley with its picturesque villages tucked into the low green hills and the many wineries that make this area so unique.

Leaving the Mosel we ride through Luxembourg (usually cheap fuel) and back to the Ardennes*. The journey which takes us along the Mosel River enables us to arrive back at the hotel in plenty of time to enjoy the village and perhaps sample a few beers before dinner.

Daily Mileage: 140 – 240 mile

From the Black Forest we ride north to the Mosel and notice the dramatic scenery change as the steep slopes of the region's vineyards begin to dominate the landscape. As you would expect from a hotel situated amongst the vineyards of the Mosel a fantastic wine selection is available to compliment your meal.

The next two days allow you to explore one of Germany’s most romantic regions, with its vineyards, river valleys and castles. Ride outs will include Cochem which is overlooked by the magnificent Reichsburg Castle, Bernkastel-Kues which is famous for its unique Market square and the many well preserved half-timbered houses and of course the Nürburgring to see any action that may be taking place. If you decide not to ride-out you can relax and take one of the many river cruises which leave from Bernkastel-Kues. Our hotel sports an indoor bowling alley so a night of competition will be arranged for all who wish to take part.
