Riding a motorcycle over Swiss mountain passes with amazing roads and scenery will not disappoint. With superb sweeping curves and vistas, riding through the mountains and passing sparkling clear mountain lakes and rivers makes for an unforgettable experience; it is a motorcyclist’s dream.

Before even reaching Switzerland we have some great roads to ride. We head through France, Belgium and Luxembourg to spend our first night in the picturesque Ruwer valley of Germany. Situated within its own vineyard our hotel for the evening is the ideal place to relax and look forward to your tour. The following morning we ride some great roads as we make steady progress through the German countryside before finally arriving at our overnight stop in a small village in Bavaria.

More great roads follow as we enter Switzerland via the long sweeping Oberalp pass. Our hotel for the next two nights is equipped with an indoor bowling alley so a night of competition will be arranged for all who wish to take part. From here you will become familiar with all the main passes of the area such as Sustenpass, Furkapass, Grimselpass and of course we will be riding the famous cobbled Passe Tremola which should not be missed at any cost.

Moving on and further over the mountains we pass Lake Brienz and Lake Thun on our way to our next base in the valley town of Kandersteg, an idyllic alpine village with traditional wooden chalets and breathtaking, unspoiled scenery. Our hotel in Kandersteg has indoor swimming Pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and solarium plus a bar with billiards and darts (expect another night of competition).

From here we will visit The Jungfrau Railway - the most famous cog wheel mountain railway in the world which leads to the highest railway station in Europe and the Trummelbach Falls a fascinating place where a stream of water has cut its way through the hard rock, creating deep crevices and caves, only a few feet wide.

Leaving the Swiss Alps behind, we skirt the top of the French Alps passing Chamonix and Mont Blanc on our way to the lake side town of Annecy. The medieval town of Annecy is one of the most beautiful and popular resort of the French Alps and tonight we stay in a luxury three star hotel right in the centre of the town. Our afternoon arrival is planned to allow you plenty of time to explore the many small streets and cafes that make up this unique place.

We still have some great roads to experience as we ride north through the Jura Mountains to the Champagne region of France and the long sweeping D971 which connects Dijon and Troyes. Our last night together will be spent in a traditional styled 17th century hotel located right in the heart of the Orient Forest nature reserve.

For our final ride we travel onward through the vineyards of Champagne and past Epernay and Reims which is home to some of the most famous wine producers in the world.

Safely back on the Euro Tunnel you can only wish you were starting this great tour all over again.

Daily Mileage: 120 – 290

Please Note: Due to our careful planning and use of rural roads a Swiss Vignette (usually costing around £27.00) will not be required on this tour.

Swiss or what!
