The Black Forest is one of Germany’s most picturesque regions and riding through the pine forests on mile after mile of the best tarmac Germany has to offer is what biking is all about. Once again we have joined two great biking destinations into one tour. Although near neighbours the regions offer different riding experiences.

The Black Forest with its roads twisting and turning through miles of pine forests to the Mosel Valley with its picturesque villages tucked into the low green hills and the many wineries that make this area so unique.

Following an early morning ferry crossing from Dover to Calais we immediately take to the back roads of France. We make our way through the French countryside and the small towns and villages to our first overnight stop at a superb four star hotel in the Ardennes region of Belgium.

The next day we ride further south and arrive at our hotel in the heart of the Black Forest to begin discovering some of the awesome roads and fantastic sights the region has to offer. We have a selection of ride-outs planned which we swap and change depending on group preference or weather conditions.

Amongst the ride-outs will be; the B500 (one of the most famous biking roads in Europe) the historic Spa town of Baden-Baden, Triberg with its waterfall and Schonach, home to the worlds biggest cuckoo clock. The Black Forest has a terrific mix of roads from the long sweepers of the B500 to the more challenging twisty sections reminiscent of the Alpine regions further south. Don’t worry we ride out everyday so you won’t miss any of the great biking roads available.

You are of course welcome to explore on your own if that is your preference with detailed maps and suggested ride-outs available.

From the Black Forest we ride north to the Mosel region of Germany and notice the dramatic change in scenery as the steep slopes of the region begin to dominate the landscape. Our hotel situated directly on the Mosel River has its own vineyard so as you can imagine a fantastic wine selection is available to compliment your evening meals. The hotel also sports an indoor bowling alley so a night of competition will be arranged for all who wish to take part

Over the next two days we explore one of Germany’s most romantic regions with its many vineyards and castles. Ride-outs will include Cochem which is overlooked by the magnificent Reichsburg Castle, and Bernkastel-Kues, famous for its unique Market square and its many well preserved half-timbered houses.

Our ride-outs also take us into the low mountain ranges of the Eifel and past one of the world's most famous motor racing courses the Nürburgring. Although we do not ride around the ring as part of the tour we can supply the necessary information for you to do so.

If you decide not to join us on the ride-outs you can relax and take one of the many river cruises which leave from Bernkastel-Kues.

Leaving the Mosel slopes behind we ride through Luxembourg back to our hotel in the Ardennes. The journey which takes us along the Mosel River enables us to arrive back at the hotel in plenty of time to enjoy the town and perhaps sample a few beers before dinner.

We have been running this tour for some years and it has now become a firm favourite. This tour really does contain something for everyone whether you are new to riding on the continent or a seasoned professional.

Daily Mileage: 140 – 240 mile
