About Global Touring UK

Global Touring UK is an independent UK based Motorcycle Touring Company specialising in fully guided high quality motorcycle touring holidays throughout Europe.

Our ongoing objective is to continually improve the quality of our motorcycle tours with the best routes, top class hotels and exceptional customer service.

To say that you will ride the best roads in Europe and stay at fantastic hotels should be a given for any motorcycle touring company and this is certainly what you will receive with Global Touring UK. What is equally as important is how you will do this and how we ensure you have an enjoyable and safe holiday.

The one thing that is stressed from our very first briefing is that our tours are ‘not a race’. There will be plenty of opportunities during the tours to explore your own and your bikes ability but when riding as a group we observe local traffic laws while still making ample progress, we appreciate the old cliché of ‘it’s all about the journey and not the destination’.

On our tours we get many different types of bikes and a real cross section of riders with very different riding styles and abilities and like to feel we cater for everyone. We welcome riders unaccustomed to riding on the continent as well as the more experienced amongst us and of course if you prefer to make your own way to destinations and just enjoy the social aspect of the tour then our comprehensive tour maps and GPS co-ordinates will make this as stress free as possible.

We employ the ‘drop off system’ which is explained in your tour pack and again on our pre-tour briefing. To back this up we have regular stops to regroup. We know this method is not fool proof and depends on everyone adhering to the system, therefore we also employ full headset communication which enables anyone with a mobile phone to contact us immediately if there is a problem within the group.

One of our main objectives is not to spoil your holiday by covering too many miles without a break. On all of our tours we would look to be stopping for a break every 50 to 70 miles dependent on the type of terrain or current weather conditions. We always stop for lunch and regular coffee/toilet breaks in the morning and afternoons, this after all is your holiday not an endurance test. We have looked at the way we cross to the continent and will be using the Channel Tunnel for more than 50% of our tours in 2010. These crossings have been carefully chosen to coincide with days that include longer mileage either inbound or outbound.

On some of our tours we include a support vehicle which carries a custom built trailer should the worst happen. We will also carry a limited amount of luggage free of charge to enable you to more fully enjoy your tour. You can read more about the support vehicle in or FAQ section elsewhere on the web site.

Every year following the end of the touring season, we take off on the bike and research our new tours. Only when we have ridden the roads, stayed in the hotels and bought the t/shirt (as they say) do we put our tours together. This we feel is the only way to know what works and what doesn’t.

Susan and I take great pride in our company and feel this is reflected in your touring experience.

Please do not hesitate to call for more information or to just chat about any of our tours.

We hope you enjoy the web site and hopefully you will join us in 2010.
